Golf sims are composed of 3 core pieces of hardware. The first is your launch monitor which is what reads the ball/club data. The second is a high quality gaming PC which connects to the launch monitor to house the software and provide a connection point for your display. The third is a projector (display) which provides a visual representation of the ball/club data through metrics and/or on-course visuals.
In addition to that, you'll need a physical system to contain the ball, provide a proper hitting surface, and display the projector's image properly. This is typically a custom setup that includes a projector screen, turf flooring, and some sort of enclosure or padding system to contain the golf ball and prevent damage.
The possibilities are pretty much endless! They can easily double as a wonderful home theater, marksmanship simulator, immersive gaming space, and much more! We have lots of clients who've done creative things like throw some bean bags on the turf for movie night, practice with their firearm, and we've even seen quite a few cut-throat Mario Kart battles over the years!
In general, minimum requirements are around 8.5' height, 12' of width, or more, depth of about 15ft. This can vary depending on several factors but is a general guideline when trying to figure out if you have the required dimensions.
We generally tell people to budget between $15,000 and $40,000 depending on a multitude of factors, most notably the launch monitor. Most people end up somewhere in the $22,000-$32,000 range when we design a full setup for them including configuration and training. We consistently deliver an extremely high quality, custom product , often for half of what it costs when you shop the manufacturers directly or bring in a company from out of town. You don't have to spend a fortune to have a beautifully done, functional setup in your home or business.
This can vary greatly depending on several factors but it generally takes us about 3-5 days for completion. In terms of lead times, it varies by season but generally we can have most clients up and running within 30 days.
We install residential and commercial golf simulators.
Residential Golf Simulators:
Basements, garages, or pretty much anywhere else that has the necessary space and is covered with decent protection from the elements.
Commercial Golf Simulators:
Offices, warehouses, golf lounges, country clubs, retirement/55+ communities, breweries, wineries, and pretty much anywhere else that has the necessary space and is covered with decent protection from the elements.
While golf simulators can be handled as a DIY project, there are simply so many options available that it can be hard to figure out the best fit. In addition, contrary to popular belief, we're able to save you quite a bit of time and money (yes, money) vs. buying packages online or relying on a general contractor. We represent nearly every component manufacturer via wholesale relationships and can gather the necessary information from you with a short discussion to properly design, build, and support your setup. While the physical installation itself can be done by almost anyone who has a good amount of DIY or construction experience, the technology integration can be extremely frustrating for folks not used to dialing in projectors and integrating multiple pieces of equipment. You'll need fairly in depth knowledge on screen resolutions, software integration, and overall technology knowledge.
We take the frustration out of the process by delivering a turn key product including (if needed) electrical, drywall, and painting.
